After completing his schooling, Karan continued his education in Mumbai and studied at Mithibai College. During this period, he became increasingly interested in the entertainment industry and acting. Mumbai’s vibrant television and film environment also gave him an opportunity to explore the profession and understand how the industry worked.
Karan did not become a television star immediately. Like many actors starting their careers, he initially took on supporting and smaller roles while trying to establish himself in the competitive Hindi television industry. His early years involved learning the demands of television production, developing his acting skills and gaining experience in front of the camera.
His television career began in the early 2000s, when he started appearing in popular Hindi television programs. One of his early notable appearances was in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, a highly popular family drama. Although his initial roles were not as prominent as the characters he would later play, they helped him gain valuable experience and visibility.
Karan gradually began receiving more substantial opportunities. His role as Robbie Sabharwal in Kasturi became an important milestone in his early career. The show gave him greater exposure as a lead television actor and helped him build recognition among Hindi television audiences.
These early experiences eventually prepared Karan for the role that would transform his career. In 2013, he was selected to play Raman Kumar Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The character became one of the most recognizable roles of his career and established him as one of the prominent male actors on Indian television.
Looking back at his early journey, Karan Patel’s career was built gradually rather than overnight. His move from Kolkata to Mumbai, education, early television appearances and progressively larger roles helped shape the career that eventually made him a familiar name among Hindi television viewers.
His early years in the industry also provided the foundation for his later work across television shows, films and reality television, including his participation in reality shows such as Khatron Ke Khiladi and, later, Rise and Fall Season 2.
